Do I need temperature monitoring on a computer? Ways to check CPU temperature

16.04.2022

No, this article will not be about the film of the same name, but about what is happening in your computer case on such hot summer days. And what is usually happening there is overheating, because 85% of users do not clean (they don’t know how and why, or they’re just lazy) dust from coolers (fans located on the processor, video card and in the case), or simply have standard boxed cooling devices that were supplied to them in the store by malicious sellers.

Simply put, in this article I will tell you about:

  • how to find out the temperature of various components in a computer
  • how to determine whether they are overheating or not
  • what could be the consequences of overheating?
  • how to avoid overheating and those same consequences
  • what determines and what benefits can be derived from the temperature of various components
  • what to do if something overheats

Ready? Then let's go.

How and how to find out?

There are countless programs for taking temperature readings. Another thing is that some of them take readings from temperature sensors (special things that measure temperature) on computer components is not accurate enough, others simply do not support some/many components of your computer, and still others outright lie and mislead the user. Some individuals use a frightening method - touch the processor/video card/anything else and if the piece of hardware is hot, then you can start to panic. But I did not recommend engaging in such nonsense since it is completely inaccurate (unless you have finely sensitive thermal sensors built into your skin that can detect temperature down to a degree), and in general you can get burned, get an electric shock, or something else no less terrible. Therefore, to take temperature readings, we will use a time-tested heavyweight program called Everest.

First, a little about the program itself. Everest- this is perhaps the only program that can tell you everything about your computer, starting from what processor you have, operating system and ending with whether you have open this moment the system unit case, how many millions of transistors are in your video card and what kind of slippers you are currently wearing (of course it’s a joke about the slippers). I will write in detail about this truly excellent program in another article, but for now let’s return to what we wanted to use it for - to determine the temperature of system components.

You can download it from anywhere, but according to my tradition, I am giving you a direct link.
No installation required, you just need to unpack the archive and run from the unpacked folder everest.exe. In the big and scary program that opened (by the way, it’s in Russian) you need to go to the tab Computer - Sensor. There you will see all the temperatures of your computer components.

What's what and why.

Now we can observe the temperatures:

  • CPU - Processor
  • Core 1\2\3\4 - Processor cores (this is the main thing about it)
  • GPU - Graphics Processing Unit (video card)
  • GPU memory - graphics processor memory (video card memory)
  • Motherboard - motherboard temperature (main and largest) board on the computer, namely the temperature of its chipset (the main thing about it)

What are these temperatures, what can be learned from them and why are they needed at all?
Temperature plays a critical role in the performance and health of your computer. When exceeding a certain level (each component has its own) begin different problems such as, for example, slowdowns, programs shutting down, rebooting the computer, incorrect display of graphics, and so on until some components completely fail. In order to avoid all this and save your computer, you need to at least periodically monitor the above temperatures, especially on hot summer days.

What temperatures should you be afraid of?

For a processor with a strip where the problems begin (for example, slowdowns), I'm used to counting 60-65 degrees. The so-called throttling begins around this mark for many processors. (namely, the clock skipping mode, i.e. the processor deliberately begins to work several times weaker, skipping clock cycles in order to lower its temperature). Temperature in 65-80 degrees I consider critical, because it causes an emergency reboot/self-shutdown of the computer, or the processor simply burns out. Simply put, it is important to ensure that the processor temperature does not exceed the bar in 60 degrees, or better yet in 53-55 . I consider normal temperatures 30-35 degrees at idle and 45-55 at 100% long hours of workload.
Many people well versed in this will argue, but to this day I believe that the lower the temperature, the higher the performance, namely a processor with a temperature of 30 degrees will cope with its task faster than a processor with a temperature of 50 , of course, provided that both processors are of the same power.
For motherboard in my opinion an acceptable temperature in 40-45 and even a little more, up to 50 -ti. Ideally 30-35 it will be just right. In general, I have almost never encountered overheating of chipsets on motherboards, so there is nothing particularly to be afraid of.
Regarding the video card.. It all depends on how powerful it is, what kind of model it is, what type of cooling is installed on it and for what purpose it is generally intended (for example: for games, for work, or for a media center).. For modern video cards, temperatures in 60-85 degrees under full load for many hours - this is normal.. For relatively old models, this can be critical.. Therefore, when the first signs of overheating appear (read about what they are below) You should pay close attention to the temperature conditions and cooling system of the video card.
Case.. Not many people know, but the temperature of the air in the case plays a very important role, since the temperatures of all components of the system depend on it, because coolers blow everything with case air and if it is hot.. I think everything is clear.. Unfortunately, measure the exact The case temperature will not work, but many are inclined to take the temperature of the motherboard for it, which is generally quite correct..
Hard drives and power supply They also have their own temperatures, but they are the least likely to overheat.. However, I will definitely touch on their temperatures too, but in a separate article..

The first signs of overheating.

How do you know that something is overheating and determine by eye what it is? It’s very simple, with the help of the first signs that I already talked about above, namely:

  • It is most likely that the processor overheats if you are “thrown out” of games and programs to the desktop. Simply put, the application closes itself.
  • It is most likely that the processor is overheating if the computer is rebooted for no reason.
  • There is a 50/50 chance that the motherboard or power supply is overheating if the computer turns off for no reason.
  • It is most likely that the video card or its memory is overheating if you see so-called artifacts in games and 3D applications (image distortion, incorrect color scheme, falling out textures, all sorts of extraneous sticks/squares, etc.)
  • The appearance of blue screens of death may indicate overheating random access memory, but the chances are extremely low.

Of course, this is just a possibility and not at all a fact that overheating is necessarily to blame for these symptoms. In each case, everything must be checked, analyzed and identified.

Is it possible to check in advance?

The most cunning ones will ask, is it possible to check in advance the temperature of all components under 100% load in temperature monitoring mode. Of course you can. That's why I chose Everest for measuring temperatures. We launch the program, select there Tools - System stability test, In the window that appears, check all the boxes and click Start, after which we monitor the temperatures in the corresponding window. Under the window with temperatures you can observe the processor load by the program, as well as the same Throttling mode that I spoke about. As soon as you see that throttling has begun, stop the test, because... This means that the processor is overheating. In all other cases, the program itself will notify you about the failure of any of the components and stop the test.

It's hot.. What to do?

If overheating is detected, or you simply want to be sure that it does not threaten you, then most likely it is worth changing the cooling system to a more powerful one. But first you just need to do a simple thing - clean the dust from the radiators and fans inside the computer. This should be done at least once a month. Everything, of course, depends on the amount of dust in the apartment and in general the area where you live, but believe me, everyone has dust and in such quantities that after cleaning it out of another friend’s computer, I could sew myself mittens
If you can't do it yourself (I don’t mean sewing mittens, but cleaning out the dust), then ask one of your friends, but in general, in the near future I will tell you and even show you how you can do it yourself. As for the simplest, somewhat emergency, measures - you can open the lid of the system unit, which will lower the temperature by a few degrees, but, unfortunately, will speed up the clogging of the coolers with dust.

Half-results, half-notes.

Are you hot? Don't let your computer overheat either

The temperature of a computer, like that of a person, is one of the most important parameters“health”, which must be monitored, and if deviations from the norm are detected, carry out appropriate preventive procedures (In the case of a computer, cleaning from dust and replacing thermal paste).

From this article on the website, you will learn how to find out the temperature of the hottest laptop or processor, video card, how to conduct a simple test for overheating under load, and how to interpret the results.

How to find out the temperature of a computer/laptop processor? AIDA64 program.

For control CPU and video card temperatures I use AIDA64 program. You can download the free 30-day version (we have enough functionality) from official website program developers. Or, you can look for cracked AIDA on torrents.

After downloading and launching the program, you will see the main window.

You need to select “Computer” in the menu on the left, then “Sensors”. You will see something like this:

This is on my computer in a lightly loaded state (actually writing this article - the browser is running, the FTP client is running, music is playing from VK.). We are interested in 2 parameters here, namely:

CPU temperature (CPU), and its nuclei. For me it is 35-40 degrees.

Video card temperature (GP diode) = 39 degrees Celsius.

I recently cleaned my computer from dust and changed the thermal paste, so all parameters are normal.

What temperature of the processor and video card is normal operating, and what is critical?

In general, each processor and video chip are different. To obtain accurate information, I recommend looking for the specification for a specific processor.

From my own experience, I will say that the temperature of the processor on a laptop in a calm state should be kept within 40-60 degrees. And under load it should not exceed 75-80 degrees.

Temperatures above 90 degrees are critical for any processor. At this temperature, irreversible destructive changes begin in the silicon that makes up the processor. Usually, when the temperature reaches 90-100 degrees, the device’s self-preservation instinct kicks in, and the laptop/computer suddenly turns off, saving its life. 🙂

As you understand, resting temperature is not an indicator. The most important thing for you and me is to find out what values the temperature reaches under heavy load(games, heavy programs, watching HD videos).

How to check the computer temperature under load?

I'm glad you don't need to download any additional software - you can put maximum load on the processor and video card using the program's functionality AIDA. Go to the Service menu - System stability test.

In the window that appears, check the Stress GPU box (To check the video card at the same time) and click Start. After pressing this button, the processor and video card will artificially load at 100% power.

We wait 5-10 minutes, watching how the temperature of your processor and video card rises, and how the fans in your laptop or system unit begin to spin more and more powerfully.

In advanced cases, even one minute is enough to understand that the laptop urgently needs to be cleaned of dust and the thermal paste changed. As we remember, the critical temperature for the processor and video card is 90 degrees. When this temperature is reached, it is better to press the Stop button in the test window so as not to force the device once again.

So, let's see what my computer shows after 7 minutes of testing in AIDA64:

As we can see, my super-quiet Scythe CPU cooler and GD900 thermal paste do an excellent job of keeping the i5-4460 processor temperature from exceeding 58 degrees, which I think is very good.

But the temperature of the MSI GeForce GTX 760 video card is a bit high (81 degrees). However, I did not panic ahead of time, but after googling, I came to the conclusion that this temperature for this video card is quite normal. Sometimes it happens.

What else I would like to draw your attention to in this window is the parameter CPU Throttling.

Throttling is when a processor, when overheated, begins to forcibly reduce its power so as not to burn out completely. If during the test the CPU Throttling sign lights up in red and the computer starts to become “stupid,” this also means that it is urgent to clean the cooling system.

How to find out the temperature of the processor and video card [VIDEO]

Especially for those who perceive information better visually - I posted it on my YouTube channel video on how to view PC temperature:

What to do if the processor temperature is too high?

For any electronics high temperatures- destructive. Overheating greatly reduces the stability and service life of your devices.

So, if during a load test, any component of your computer or laptop heats up above 85-90 degrees, it’s time to clean it from dust and replace the thermal paste.

If on a computer cleaning with minimal care is possible even for a child, on a laptop everything is a little more complicated. If your hands are growing out of nowhere, it’s better not to get into the laptop yourself, but entrust the cleaning to professionals in the nearest service center. For me, for example, the cost of such cleaning is 1500 rubles. This is the price you should be guided by.

In general, this article is more devoted to diagnosing the problem. More details about why your laptop overheats and what to do about it- you can read it on my blog site.

As I said, everything is much simpler on a computer. I will definitely tell you how to clean your computer from dust so that it turns on afterwards in one of the following articles. Do not miss!

Favorable temperature conditions are the key to a stable operating system. You shouldn’t be surprised why your PC began to work slowly and somehow “behave capriciously” when your ear hears extraneous metallic noise, your nose smells an unpleasant burning smell, and your eye involuntarily notices a cloud of dust when you start the computer. All this suggests that the “iron health” of your electronics is under threat. It may well turn out that by learning today the answer to the question: “How to check the temperature of a computer?”, you will save your PC from certain death. If you think that they are scaring you in vain, read the article and you will understand that everything is much more serious than you imagine...

Strange introduction and clear comparison

We are all familiar with a basic self-diagnosis device - a thermometer. A fairly simple medical device helps determine the level of threat to our body and take timely measures to restore temperature balance. Note that the feeling of weakness does not cause us as much anxiety as a fever that appears out of nowhere. However, even a slight malaise affects our performance, not to mention the inflammatory processes that chain a person to a hospital bed. The scan program can warn you about problems with your PC. The system thermometer will always be in front of your eyes, and you will be able to respond in a timely manner to critical indicators of the performance of your PC. Let us leave the biological comparisons and move on to the main part of the presented review.

So, about the signs of overheating

Before you learn how to check your computer's temperature, let's take a look at the main symptoms of electronic fever:

  • Your PC began to reboot spontaneously.
  • significantly lost in performance.
  • Unauthorized closing of applications and resetting of working windows.
  • Distorted image display on the screen: ripples, stripes, blur and other interference.

Of course, all this can be avoided if you systematically monitor the condition of your PC. Unfortunately, Windows system does not have a sufficiently accurate diagnostic tool, and true temperature readings are only available in the BIOS. As you understand, without third party software there's simply no way around it.

How to check your computer's temperature: several effective ways

Today there is an unimaginable number of different utilities and software, through which the user can obtain current “degree” information about each hardware component. However, not all of them deserve to be called truthful. Some of these utilities take readings from temperature sensors with a monstrous error. Which makes their purpose, much less use, pointless. Well, let's look at some "honest" and "reputable" software solutions.

AIDA64 is a leader among the first!

Small, but very effective program. By installing this diagnostic tool, you will save yourself from the problem of “How to find out the computer temperature?” Literally all the information (and in detail) about the hardware configuration will become available for review.

  • On the left side of the program window that opens, click on “Computer”.
  • Then go to the "Sensors" section.
  • The entire list of “heat-intensive” equipment will be displayed on the right side of the work area.

However, it is unlikely that such information will be useful to the uninitiated user. After all, it is necessary to understand what temperature value is critical. At the same time, we should not forget that different components warm up in their own way.

Computer temperature monitoring: dangerous sensor reading

Depending on the type and class of system components used (meaning PC hardware), the manufacturer provides certain operating parameters for the part. Nevertheless, the “temperature list” presented below can be considered universal, since the endurance limits specified by the manufacturer always imply ideal operating conditions. Something that is practically impossible to achieve in real life.

CPU

So, how can you check your computer's temperature? The first monitoring point has always been the CPU.

  • When performing non-resource-intensive operations (for example, when working with an indicator in the range of 30-45⁰, this is the norm.
  • When the computer is idle, the numbers drop to 25-30 ⁰C.
  • An unfavorable temperature is considered to be 60-65 ⁰C. This “scenario” most often leads to processor failures. The “Throttling effect” occurs - the CPU begins to work in skipping clock mode, thereby reducing the temperature of the “hot” flint.
  • The critical value - 70-85 ⁰С - will cause a spontaneous reboot. In some cases, this temperature can completely damage the processor.

Video card

When you manufacture a computer, in particular a GPU, you should consider the following:

  • For modern video cards, a value of 60-65 ⁰С is the norm. Whereas this temperature can “kill” old GPUs.
  • The powerful video adapter is equipped with an appropriate cooling system, so when working for many hours in game mode, even at 85 ⁰C, the user does not have to worry about the “viability” of his graphics processor.

When downloading resource-intensive “toys” onto a PC, you need to adhere to technical characteristics your video card. Since graphics distortion, braking effect, or spontaneous exit from the game to the desktop are not always a manifestation of a “temperature” malfunction.

Motherboard

Undoubtedly, practical solution question “How to check the temperature of the computer?” Without mentioning the main part of the PC, it would be incomplete, to put it mildly. However, such an important element as the motherboard, in general, is not included in the “temperature risk” group. Because overheating of the chipset is currently an extremely rare occurrence. In some modifications, the motherboard temperature of 50 ⁰C is a completely normal indicator. Whereas, ideally, the “working degree” should not exceed 25-35 ⁰С.

HDD

First of all, it is worth noting that the location of the hard drive when monitoring the temperature of the computer is of great importance. After all, the design feature hard drives is the lack of its own cooling system. As practice shows, not every user equips their HDD with a special additional cooler. Which is unforgivable, by the way... HDD is a heat-consuming element electronic systems, and therefore, if there is insufficient cooling, it can be subject to the destructive process of overheating.

  • The ideal temperature is considered to be 25-30⁰C.
  • Critical indicators are 50⁰С and more.

Load temperature diagnostics

The above-mentioned computer temperature testing program, AIDA64, has a built-in System Stability Test tool. If you want to see how your PC hardware works in real time, use this utility:

  • Activate the "Service" tab.
  • Next, select “System stability test” from the context list.
  • In the window that opens, mark the items of the equipment being tested.
  • Continue by clicking on the Start button.

If any of the main components of the system is subject to overheating, the utility will automatically stop the test and report a specific “violator” of the temperature regime.

Other software solutions

To organize constant monitoring of your computer’s temperature, you can use one of the specialized gadgets. The convenient Hmonitor utility works in background, continuously monitors the “degree” condition central processor, hard drive and graphics video adapter. In case of a critical change in temperature, the program will notify you with a sound signal.

So, the answer to the question of how to find out the computer temperature is no longer a secret for you. However, in order to prevent critical overheating, it is recommended to systematically remember: dust is the worst enemy of electronics. The warning voiced is especially relevant for portable devices - laptops, the components of which are already “constrained by the narrow frames” of the case frame. Make sure your cooling system is efficient enough. Yes, you shouldn’t abuse overlocking! Overclock hardware components wisely, so to speak, without fanaticism. All the best to you and may your “electronic friend” not have a fever!

Hello, dear readers of the blog site. Everyone probably knows that any electronic component has resistance, and if current passes through it (and without current, the operation of a computer and all its components is impossible), then it heats up. Computers and laptops are designed in such a way that excess heat is dissipated outside and thus maintains normal temperature computer. this is exactly how the new one works system unit or laptop.

And almost all users completely forget that over time the heat removal system can change its characteristics and then overheating of the components is inevitable. You will most likely find out about overheating through unstable system operation, reboots, blue screen death or, which is even worse, through a burned-out component (motherboard, processor, memory or video card). I hope that this did not happen to you and that you are reading this article to prevent overheating and checking your computer’s temperature will now be a simple procedure for you.

So, first, let's determine what temperature is considered normal for each of the components and what temperature will be critical.

What is the normal temperature of the computer, and what is already critically high?

Each component of the system has its own specific temperature that is considered normal.

  • what should the processor temperature be?

The normal processor temperature is in the temperature range up to 55 degrees Celsius in constant operation mode. Of course, it is better to keep the optimal processor temperature around 30-40 degrees. I’ll tell you how to optimize heat removal below. If the temperature exceeds 60 degrees, the processor system begins to slow down to cope with overheating. This will be expressed in slow work. When the temperature reaches 80 degrees, the system will begin to overload and shut down to save the life of the processor. Therefore, controlling the processor temperature at optimal values will allow your computer or laptop to run faster.

  • what is the normal temperature of the video card?

For a video card the situation is slightly different. And this is due to heavy loads on GPU. Accordingly, the normal temperature of the video card is different for each individual case. But it is better to know the general recommendations to understand the operating temperature of the video card. The main thing is to determine for what purposes it is used. It is designed and designed for long gaming sessions, or it is a video card for an office computer where graphics work is minimal. Plus, it’s important to understand how powerful system cooling is installed on it. For example, if you run a powerful game on a weak video card, but it is designed for simple office work, then you will get a correspondingly higher temperature. In general, the best operating temperature will be up to 70 degrees. This is quite normal and not critical. However, for weak old cards this can be deadly. The maximum temperature of the video card, after which you can expect some consequences, is 90-95 degrees.

  • normal motherboard temperature

With motherboards everything is much simpler. They do not perform powerful calculations like a video processor and processor and, accordingly, there are practically no problems with overheating. However, it is worth knowing the normal operating temperature of the chipset. Range up to 45 degrees normal operating temperatures.

  • normal temperature inside the case

By and large, the temperature inside the case does not play a special role if all components operate within normal ranges. You should only bother with the temperature in the case if you have done everything to reduce heating on the components themselves, and overheating does not go away. Then you should think about removing heat from the case. Perhaps you stuffed the old case with so much powerful components that the holes for heat circulation in the case are not enough to remove it.

  • hard drive temperature

In my personal experience I will say this - the lower the temperature of the hard drive, the longer it will serve you without problems. Try to keep the temperature to 30 degrees.

How to check your computer's temperature. Program for measuring computer temperature

You can view and test the temperature of components in several ways, including programs that allow you to check how your computer behaves under load.

1. Computer BIOS. This is a system recorded in the flash memory of the motherboard that allows your laptop or computer to boot. And most motherboards allow you to view the temperature of the components. Although this is not necessary. Some don't show. You can immediately after turning on press either F2 or Del or F12, depending on the type of BIOS and motherboard. There is only one “BUT”. The BIOS shows the temperature as if your computer is idling. Therefore, although this option shows it, it is not very informative. Although if even in this mode the computer overheats, then your device is doing very poorly. Turn it off and look for a solution to the problem.

2. The second and most correct option is a program for checking the temperature of the computer. There are a lot of them, but we will look at the best ones. And in my opinion there are two of them.

The first program for measuring computer temperature is HWMonitor. It is very easy to install (installation as such is not even required) and to use. Download the archive with the program from this link. Download one of the files (setup will need to be installed, archive is a program that does not need to be installed). I downloaded the portable version, unpacked it and launched the 64 bit version.

The window that you will see is the entire program - a program for measuring the temperature of a computer. We look at specific values and analyze. Shows the minimum, maximum and current values for the period since the program was started.

Another program is a more advanced solution for analyzing and viewing characteristics. The most useful thing for us in this case will be to test the temperature of the computer under load. It's called AIDA64 and you can download it from the website. There is also a version for installation and a portable version. The program is paid, but it works for free in trial mode for a full 30 days.

Downloaded, unpacked and launched.

The temperature is displayed in the computer tab -> sensors. But the most interesting thing is hidden in the “Service -> Test” tab

Here you will already see how your system behaves under load. We press the Start button and see how the load grows to 100 percent and the temperature rises. At some point, when the heating is high, Throtting appears, the processor skips clock cycles, i.e. tries to reduce the load to lower the temperature. Despite this, my processor did not exceed the critical temperature limit.

Causes of overheating and how to fix the problem

If you have already discovered that the system is overheating, you should take the following measures:

  • The first and most common solution to the problem is to clean your system unit or laptop. In the literal sense of the word. We open the system unit and clean all dust from all fans, cooling radiators and all openings in the case for normal air circulation.
  • Secondly, you definitely need to check whether the fans are working at all and how easily they spin. If the fan is not working, be sure to replace it. I think this will solve most problems.
  • Third, if the first two points did not help, then it is necessary to cool the space around the radiators. This involves creating fresh ventilation and blowing out warm air. First set one fan to blow out and check how much the temperature has changed.

CPU temperature monitoring - gadget for Windows 7 (video)

The only available “factory” method find out the processor temperature- this is to view it through Bios, this is the method I will show at the beginning of the article.

A little theory for proper understanding. Increased heat generation is the main “enemy” of any computer. Therefore, every owner needs to take care of proper cooling“stuffing” of the PC, including the processor, since each element has its own operating temperature range.

Overheating leads to decreased performance and freezing software, unplanned reboots and equipment failure.

The heart of a computer is the central processing unit (CPU). It is he who is responsible for performing all operations and falls on him. Failure of the processor will make it impossible to further use the PC or laptop (of course, until it is replaced with the same one).

Therefore, it is worth monitoring the change in CPU temperature. How to find out the processor temperature? There are several ways to do this.

I will immediately write what needs to be done, so the text below may seem “strict”. BIOS - basic computer nude that includes all the necessary information. Including indicators from sensors. To activate the menu you must:

  1. To restart a computer.
  2. When the loading screen appears, press the appropriate key (Del, F2 or F10 - depending on operating system and firmware).
  3. In the menu, find the Hardware Monitor item (PC Health, H/W Monitor or Status - again depending on the OS and type of BIOS).

The permissible temperature depends on the CPU model. Average – acceptable maximum –> 75 degrees Celsius. To accurately determine the temperature range, study the documentation for your CPU (I recommend looking at all the parameters on the manufacturer’s official website).

Advantage third party software is definition CPU temperature at any moment of time. There are many programs that allow you to monitor processes occurring both with computer hardware and installed software. Let's look at some of them in more detail.

HWMonitor - I found this program to be the most convenient. This program Works for Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP.

Download the program from my website and run it, you will find out the processor temperature within 20 seconds, here is the link: HWMonitor.zip

Or “Google” the name of the program and download, run and the results are right in front of you. One of the most convenient utilities that allows you to find out the temperature of not only the processor, but also the video card, hard drive, motherboard, etc. You can also track the rotation speed of the coolers and the amount of voltage supplied to the PC elements.

All the necessary information is in one place, which is very convenient. The program is updated regularly. HWMonitor is compatible with all modern devices.

Core Temp.

The program is interesting in that, along with the temperature, it displays all the characteristics of the central processor. The downside is that the utility specializes only in the CPU; it is not responsible for everything else, although in this article we are looking at ways to determine the processor temperature...

SpeedFan.

One of the most simple programs, which does not make it any less useful. Its primary purpose is to monitor fan speed. But there is a tab where you can track the temperatures of all vital important devices PC.

Note that all presented utilities have Free access. Installing the software will not cause difficulties for an inexperienced user.

If it is discovered that the CPU temperature readings are higher than normal, in principle, there is no need to immediately run for repairs. There are several ways to fix the situation yourself, naturally. skills required on assembling and disassembling “gadgets” + understandable and good instructions from YouTube...

  1. Cleaning your computer. It is necessary to remove the housing wall and visually examine the condition fans. Dusty coolers run slower, not cooling components sufficiently. The solution is to vacuum your computer or laptop without damaging the elements.
  2. Replacing thermal paste. This substance promotes heat exchange between the processor and the adjacent part of the cooler radiator. Over time, the thermal paste dries out, causing its conductive functions to be impaired. Replacement instructions can be easily found on the Internet.
  3. Fan replacement. If listed methods did not help, and the CPU continues to heat up, then replacing the cooler can solve the problem.
  4. Installation of an additional fan. Each motherboard has auxiliary connectors for connecting additional equipment. Installing an auxiliary cooler will help reduce the temperature.
  5. If the presented methods did not help, then you can safely think about replacing the processor itself, here I would already recommend contact service.

The high temperature of PC components is what is encountered precisely when it breaks down. To avoid breakdowns, it is necessary to monitor the condition of your computer’s hardware, starting with the processor. I hope on our topic: how to find out the processor temperature You have no questions left.
